Save up to 80% on medical, dental, chiropractic, vision, prescriptions
Hi Everyone, I wanted to let you know that I have uncovered a need where I feel I can best use my talents and that is helping the under-insured and uninsured. I have contracted with a great company to help me serve that market. This is not a sales letter to ask you to buy anything, but rather a request that if you know someone in this position, you might refer... more »

How to tell if a tooth is cracked?
Had a large filling replaced on an upper molar last year and now it is hurting like the dickens. Nothing shows up on the x-ray and no obvious infection. Is there any way to tell if a tooth is cracked without doing root canal? Or is that the only way? Thanks.

Drilling Without Anesthetic (And With Pain)
I distinctly remember that when I was a child (before puberty), circa 1960, my dentist *never* gave me Novocaine or any sort of anesthetic prior to starting the drilling. Instead, I just grabbed the arms of the dental chair and hung on for dear life. When the drill would hit a nerve, I would flinch but remain seated. My mom would be standing... more »

clenching vs grinding
Clenching is not the same as grinding. Group function and balancing side function can cause grinding, but I have no answers for preventing clenching.

NTI causing anterior open bite
I know that Boyd says about this developing in less than 5% of cases. Wondering what is the frequency of this happening to the pros on this newsgroup? John

Periodontal Disease
I am 64 yrs old and relocated to New Mexico from California. My first visit to a dentist here resulted in the dentist refusing to do any dental work until I resolved my periodontal issues. I had some cleaning and scaling from the periodontist, but he said I would not be "good to go" unless I had a bone replacement surgery, which my... more »

TMJ surgery case in Spokane
Joint surgery caused problems instead of solving them? Who would have thought?? [link] A little commentary on the same case from the "Dr. Bicuspid" site: Kallestad, 29, a former cheerleader and tennis player who had dreams of becoming a lawyer, is now unable to work and lives under the care... more »

Piercing Pain in Front Upper Tooth
About an hour ago I was walking outside and out of the blue, tooth #8 got a sharp, piercing type of pain. I felt a similar pain last week in tooth #10 but not quite as bad. I do get these pains over the years but tonight it hurts more than usual and not steady, just zings. When I press my right sinus area next to my nose, it hurts a little. Tooth... more »

How much can a bridge cost?
Hi there. I just have a tooth pulled (bottom. 3rd one from the rear) and now I have a gap. What can I do to fix as I do not want to have a gap. I heard that I can get an implant which cost many 1000s of $ or a bridge where the front and back teeth get a crown attached to a fake tooth in the middle. I need this to look 100% real and I am worried... more »
